Job purpose:

Form an essential part of a dynamic and fast paced working environment, working across highly engaging automotive projects.

Create quality, accurate 3D digital surface models and interior parts that communicate conceptual design intent using Alias.

Responsibilities (for advanced and production surfacing projects):

• Modelling the CAS/Class A surfacing phase on UK based programmes
• Interrogate engineering inputs, geometry and sections to understand the impact on surface design and quality
• Work closely with overseas engineering and manufacturing teams to develop feasible CAS / Class A surface data
• Complete release documents and trackers in accordance with process
• Work with the Digital Surfacing Team and react to ad hoc surfacing requests and design / feasibility studies
• Take full ownership of quality and delivery timing targets

• An expert level and detail-oriented Alias user with an innate understanding of highlighting, curvature analysis, dimensional variation and the effect of material selection on the A-Surface
• Thorough understanding of tooling design, sheet metal stamping, human factors, safety requirements, gaps and flushness
• Experience of supporting software tools used within the design and office environment (Word, Excel, Photoshop, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams)
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Proficient communication skills
